Quality Time
It has been a few days now since I have checked in and done some writing. I have been on a family trip to Deer Valley, Utah. It started out a bit rough since our original plans were to go to Pineview Reservoir, but I didn’t confirm the reservation. In any situation that is less than ideal, the best question I know to ask is “How can I create the most value”? Not sure exaclty what to do, I called on Alyssa and Kati (they used to book retreats for the Engenuity partners) and they helped me to reserve a place in Deer Valley.
The first place that we went to did not have air conditioning, railings on the balcony, and well, was less than ideal. Fortunately my wife made some calls and we finally found a great place. In these situations I have to admit that I did get frustrated and experienced some scarcity, but this is where a good conversation can be the best remedy. My wife was emotional when at first she saw the trip jepardized and I was there to resolve her concerns, but later it was me who called on her to help me.
As human beings we all have our moments of scarcity, but as long as we are aware there is something we can do about it. Usually it requires giving up our prideful moments or having the perspecitve of what we really want versus short-sided payoff.
We ended up having a great trip. Hiking, going to Jordanelle Reservoir, touring Park City, biking, and just haging out and talking. I chose not to get on the internet and blog or do any business while away. However, I did take some picutures that I will post in the album section of the site under trips.
